Silence the Distraction
April is
National Distracted Driving Awareness Month
Silence the Distraction:
The Laguna Beach Police Department will be stopping drivers who violate California’s hands-free cell phone law. In April, they will have additional officers looking specifically for drivers on their phones. Law enforcement agencies throughout the state will be doing the same.
“According to preliminary data from the California Highway Patrol (CHP), 66 people were killed and more than 6,500 injured in 2017 from distracted driving-related crashes.” (source)
Distracted driving-related crashes are preventable. If you can’t drive hands-free, distraction free, pull over. It could not only save you from getting a ticket but more importantly, it could save a life!
